Toys R Us, Maplin, New Look, barely a day goes by without another big name store going bust.
It's the same old story each time: it's getting more expensive to run a retail business – taxes, and those pesky staff costs; and people just don't want to go shopping anymore when they could do it way easier, way cheaper online.
So what will become of the Great British high street? Of hanging out with your friends in TopShop, long Saturday afternoons traipsing after your mum as she pops in "just one more shop".
We took to the (high) streets of Birmingham to find out.
